The indemnitor is usually a gainfully employed person with at least 1 year on the job, good credit and has the ability to guarantee that the defendant will go to court. If the defendant does not show up for court the judge will issue a warrant for his/her arrest and the indemnitor may have to pay all expenses involved in apprehending the defendant including the initial cost of the bond.
